This comforting recipe requires just a few quality vegetables and pantry staples, and it comes together in a single pot.

This soup packs a flavorful punch, AND a hefty dose of bone-supporting nutrients like vitamin C, vitamin K, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus (just to name a few!).

It also contains amino acids important to bone-building processes, thanks to its nutritious bone broth base.

Hearty Cabbage Soup | Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free | BoneCoach™ Recipes

SERVES: 4

TOTAL TIME: 30 minutes

Ingredients

1 tbsp (15ml) fresh pressed extra virgin olive oil

1 large sweet Vidalia onion, small diced

1/4 tsp (1ml) sea salt

2 carrots, peeled and small diced

3 cloves garlic, finely minced

1/2 head (6-8 cups) green cabbage, roughly chopped

1 bay leaf

8 cups (2L) chicken bone broth

Directions

1) Heat a large pot over medium heat. Once hot, add in the oil, onions and salt. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring often until golden.

2) Add in the carrots, garlic, and bay leaf. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until garlic is fragrant.

3) Stir in the cabbage and bone broth. Cover the pot with a lid and bring to a boil. Uncover, lower heat, and continue simmering for 5 minutes.
