SERVES: 4

TOTAL TIME: 15 minutes (+ 30 minutes for marinating)

Ingredients

1 lb ribeye / striploin / flank steak, cut against the grain into 1/2-inch slices

1 Asian or Bosc pear, skin removed and cut into chunks

3 cloves garlic

1 cm chunk gingerroot

2 tbsp coconut aminos

pinch white pepper (optional)

1 tbsp toasted sesame oil or avocado oil

1 shallot, peeled and sliced

2 tbsp (30ml) green onions, thinly sliced

Directions

1) Place the beef slices in a mixing bowl. In a blender, combine pear chunks, shallot, garlic, gingerroot, coconut aminos, and white pepper. Blend until smooth. Pour marinade mixture over the beef slices. Toss well and marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes to overnight in the fridge.

2) Heat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot add in the oil, shallots and beef. Pour in any remaining marinade also. Cook the beef, stirring occasionally, until all of the marinade juices thicken and begin to caramelize, about 10 minutes.

3) Serve immediately, topped with sliced green onions.
